About the event
We often think of our bones as not much more than a rigid structures that creates our framework and protects our organs. Bones also act as primary reservoir for minerals, housing most of the calcium in our body and contain bone marrow where red and white blood cells are produced.
They are also a living , sensing organism that holds our past and that of our ancestors and listens to our present .
Through a mixture of movement, breath, visualisation and touch we will be sensing into and exploring the 3 layers of the bones, fascia, compact bone and bone marrow.
When we are activated, frightened, overwhelmed or mobilized, the bones are participating. They flood the body with chemical signals that prepare us to move, to react, to protect.
This understanding reframes the somatic experience of tension, bracing or collapse. Our bones hold our survival. strategies.
