INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS OF SOMATIC MOVEMENT EDUCATION AND BODYWORK

For adults wanting to explore the mind body relationship , whether it be to lower stress and anxiety levels, work with developmental movement patterns, physical or emotional difficulty or  for the insights creativity and meaning that can arise from being deeply connected and present to ourselves. In its essence it's about exploring embodied functional movement.

A session might involve a combination of any of the aforementioned areas  Developmental Movement, hands-on touch, exploring tension in the body from a somatic perspective.

Sometimes the idea of exploring movement can be uncomfortable so it is something that we can work up to over time. The movements can also be small movements such as focusing on the breath in the ribcage . It might be more functional/ structural  such as exploring pelvic stability, getting more movement in the shoulder girdle or wanting to explore stress patterns

 WORKSHOPS

The workshops are range from 1.5 hours to 4 hours long and are based around  exploring a theme, often working around a body system or part of a system such as an aspect of the Nervous System or exploring cellular breathing. They are largely experiential and sometimes a work sheet might be given to serve as a map.

RETREAT DAY

Retreat days are either a morning or a full day and are entirely experiential and involve more silence so that we don't rely on the mind to govern our processes.
